Bright Danes of Texas Guardian Program:
Having a guardian program allows us to make sure all of our danes are living their best possible life. This program is a partnership where you get raise one of our top-quality puppy or adult dogs as your family pet while we retain breeding rights for a set period. The dog lives with you full-time, and after their breeding career (usually a set time for males), the dog is typically neutered and fully yours.
Costs: The family purchases the dog as a normal pet family would. We cover all breeding related vet expenses and health testing that is needed for breeding. We pay the guardian family a specific compensation amount each time a healthy litter is produced!
Responsibilities: Guardians are responsible for the basics including daily care, training, socialization, and transportation to the breeder for breeding. But most importantly, they are responsible for providing a stable home environment that is both safe and happy where the puppy can enjoy every day!
Requirements: Must have a secure, fenced yard, experience with large breeds, and often no other opposite sex intact dogs in the home.
Additional info:
The puppy will come to you at around 10 weeks or older. We will sometimes keep puppies longer at times to see how they mature. The puppy with be health tested prior to being bred and if for any reason we decide not to breed the dog, he will become your full property at no additional cost to you and typically are neutered at that time.
Qualifications for our guardian program:
You must live within a 4-5 hour drive from Howe, Texas.
You must have a stable and safe home environment.
No other intact dogs in the home.
You are responsible for the general routine veterinary care and health of the puppy placed with you. (This means vaccines,
training, socialization, love, care and attention).
You must feed what we recommend or an agreed upon food.
You must be willing to communicate often with us and send us frequent updates and pictures.
You must be ok with us keeping legal ownership of puppy until retirement.
You must be able to provide a safe and secure environment for your puppy and have a schedule that will allow him to not be left alone for extended periods of time.
All dogs placed in this program must be indoor dogs.
You must have reliable transportation, and a willingness to bring the puppy to us or meet up when needed for breeding purposes, as well as occasional other times to help them comfortable with us and being in our home.
